Friday, October 28th, 2011

Awesome news guys! Mary has been cast in another new project, “A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III,” according to Variety.

Eight years after earning an Oscar nomination for his perf in Sofia Coppola’s “Lost in Translation,” Bill Murray has agreed to work with her older brother, as he has joined the cast of Roman Coppola’s “A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III” along with Patricia Arquette and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

Trio will co-star alongside Charlie Sheen, Jason Schwartzman, Aubrey Plaza and Katheryn Winnick.

CAA-repped Winstead, who currently stars in Universal’s remake of “The Thing,” recently wrapped James Ponsoldt’s indie “Smashed,” which hails from Super Crispy Entertainment.

Congrats Mary! We are super excited for this!

‘The Thing’ Premiere- Our Experience!

Friday, October 14th, 2011

“The Thing” is out today! So in honor of that, I figured I’d share my experience from the premiere. I wrote this the night of the premiere. Enjoy! -Liesl

Tonight was awesome! For my first, probably only, Hollywood premiere, I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

When I arrived at Universal City Walk, I immediately saw the lights and posters of the red carpet surrounded by a big crowd of onlookers. And who should be the first person I see on the carpet? MARY! She was even more gorgeous than the pictures let on.

Unfortunatly, I wasnt able to capture any pictures myself, but its ok, the ones in our GALLERY are much better than anything I could take anyway.

The movie…

Let’s be real, I am gonna be biased because I enjoy anything Mary is in, but I will do my best to give you my best impression of the film.

I loved it.

It was creepy and intense. I can’t stop thinking about it! I mean it’s almost 3am and I am wide awake. I’d say it did it’s job.

If you’re a fan of the Carpenter film or just experiencing “The Thing” for the first time, you’ll enjoy it. And anyone still naysaying the presence of women in the film will certainly feel silly once they see Mary kick some major butt.

I don’t want to give anything away, but I will say even through the end credits it was entertaining and everything I wanted it to be.

I am definitely gonna pay to see it again. Maybe after I see Footloose. I need something less stressful first.

The Thing out today!

Friday, October 14th, 2011

The Thing is now out today! Be sure to catch it in theaters.

Also check out these interviews below from YoungHollywood and others.

Mary mentions her favorite movie to NextMovie.

“It changes all the time, it’s so hard [to pick one], but ‘Sunset Boulevard’ is one of my favorites. But it changes. ‘Rosemary’s Baby.’ ‘Fargo.’  It’s really hard to pick one but those are the first few that come to mind right now.”

Also a big thanks to Winstead on Tumblr for more images of Mary that she did for LA Hero complex.

Mary talks Music, Fashion, and ‘The Thing’ to Filler

Thursday, October 13th, 2011

Mary is featured in the Fall 2011 Edition of Filler Magazine in which she dicusses “The Thing,” music, and life in LA. Check out all the images in our GALLERY.

I’m currently prepping to shoot a film called Smashed, in which I play a woman dealing with alcoholism. It’s a really heavy subject, but it’s peppered with moments of comedy and has a fantastic cast. It’s by far my most challenging role to date and the rehearsal process has already challenged me so much and made me a better actor. I’m really excited about that project.

When I have time off, I like to spend a lot of time home with my husband and my dogs. Some of my films have caused me to spend upwards of 6 months away from home, so when I am home I just want to appreciate every minute!

I love watching movies and reading and going vintage and antique shopping. I’ve also been spending time writing and recording music that I’ll hopefully be releasing on a really small scale at some point.
